August 8 —
Every day the staff and volunteers at the Washington County Archives find new treasures. Often, these items have been hidden away for 50 years or more. The records held in the archives tell the stories of those who have gone before us. On August 8, County Archives Assistant, Donna Briggs will give a presentation on the latest finds. Highlights include the story of a young free woman of color who was kidnapped in 1777 Boston and held as a slave for twenty years. Donna will also tell about the latest projects and how you can become a part of the volunteer team.
