Allen Farm and Davis School, Split Rocks Treasure & Murray Ellis,  a collection of stories submitted by Mr. William C. “Bill” Hicks from “JAKE and the Dry Branch Boys“.

This next set of stories was shared by Donna Cox Briggs.
If you’ve ever run into a brick wall while doing family research, read her account of, “How I Found Effy Taylor Peck”.  Through perseverance and patience she was able to solve a mystery about one family member.  Donna’s other stories are equally as interesting!  Enjoy!

Here’s another bit of local history submitted by Betty Jane Hylton.  It contains information about and pictures of Oak Hill Cemetery in Johnson City, TN.  Many hours of work by dedicated volunteers went into documenting records and graves in this long time area cemetery.

Oak Hill Cemetery Survey & Gen.  (this may take a few moments to load)

In the near future we’ll have a link to a database of all the known names of those buried at Oak Hill and the section where they are located. This will be a valuable resource to researchers having family buried in Oak Hill.    In the meantime you can find out more information about the Civil War soldiers buried there by purchasing the DVD “Civil War Soldiers of Oak Hill” by Mr. Bill Hicks.  It can be found on our Book Shoppe page available for purchase.  Just print out the book order form, fill in the DVD or book information, include your payment and send to the address listed on the form.
