FOR WAGS MEMBERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC

USING GENEALOGY RESOURCES @ JOHNSON CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY

Hints to Help You Find Your Ancestors

A one hour instructional session on genealogy resources will be offered on January 23rd at 6:00 P.M. in Johnson City Public Library’s Computer Center. The session will feature HeritageQuest, Ancestry.com, and FamilySearch, and will focus on strategies for using these collections to complement each other. The instructional session will explore the differences between these resources and examine ways to develop a research plan, integrating them for the most effective results.

FamilySearch is Johnson City Public Library’s newest genealogy resource that allows library patrons to order microfilm online and view it using the library’s microfilm reader. Loan periods are usually for three months and there is a nominal charge paid to FamilySearch for this service. Details about using FamilySearch will be covered in the session.

This session is free and open to everyone who is interested. Participants are encouraged to bring their library cards. For more information contact the library at 423-434-4454.
